    Optical Coating  is using physics and chemistry method to coating electric films or metal films on surface of the material .According to the different wavelengths the refractive index of the fiber is different,make up  different thickness of the film,for change the material on the surface of the reflection and transmission characteristics .
    In the range of visible and infrared bands,the most  refractive index of the metal can reach 78%~98%. but can't  exceed 98%.Both for CO2 laser,using Cu/Mo/Si/Ge etc. to makereflectors ,using Ge/AsGa/SnZn as the the output window and Transmission optical element materia . or for YAG laser adopt ordinary optical glass as a reflectors.output mirror and transmission optical element material,can't meet the requirements of more than 99%  reflection mirror, the different ourput mirror have different require of transmittance,so it must adopt optical coating method 。
    For the CO2 laser in the infrared wave band,Commonly used coating material is YF/PF/Ge, etc.For YAG laser or visible near infrared band, the commonly used coating materials is SZn/MgF/Ti2Ox/ZrO, etc。
    In addition to the high-reflective film、 antireflection film , it also can  be plated a special film which can increases reflection for a certain wavelength ,increases transmission for other wavelength,such as laser frequency multiplication technology of beamsplitters, etc.
